Born in Athens in 1959, she studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under L. Kanakakis, D. Mytaras, N. Kessanlis and M. Lambraki-Plaka.
From 1980 to 1984 she studied Interior Design at the Fine Arts School of California State University of Long Beach under A. Turnauyer. From 1990 to 1992 she continued her studies in painting on a Greek state scholarship at the École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux Arts de Paris, under Pierre Carron.

Her works can be found in the Greek Parliament, the National Gallery, the Kouvoutsakis Gallery, the Benaki Museum, the Museum of Florina, the Collection of the AGET Iraklis Group, the Collection of the Agricultural Bank of Greece, the Papastratos Collections and other private collections in Greece and abroad.

She has illustrated many calendars for private enterprises. She and her work were selected to represent Greek contemporary art during the Olympic Games of 2004. On 22 September 2008, as part of the Environmental Program of SKAI Radio and the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, one of the works of Chryssa Verghi was auctioned and finally bought by the Greek Parliament, and the proceeds were donated to the Forest Fund.
